Open machine concept for new tasks

With their partnership, CoreTechnologie and printer specialist Weirather want to offer an open system for SLS.

In order to expand its manufacturing capabilities and also to be able to act as a supplier of polymer parts in the bus and train sector, Trivion, a brand of Umdasch Group Ventures, has added a Weirather WLS 3232 to its machine park. Together with the 4D_Additive software from CT Coretechnologie, the high-tech forge from Amstetten now has an open AM system that leaves hardly anything to be desired.

Armin Brüning, CEO of CT CoreTechnologie adds: "Our software aims to give the user all the possibilities to achieve an optimal result. Our software offers features that make it possible to repair parts, to add a texture to the surface of a part or to optimise the part. In addition, geometric definitions are based on a separate B-Rep core, which eliminates the inaccuracies known from STL files. The build parameters are then optimally adjusted. The Weirather machine then allows these parameter adjustments to be implemented perfectly in the construction job. An ideal combination."

"The combination of the WLS 3232 machine and the 4D_Additive software gives us the possibility to work with new materials that meet the requirements of passenger transport."

States Thomas Gruber, Head of Additive Manufacturing at Trivion, a brand of Umdasch Group Ventures.
